Keeping It Real
by: SweetHeart4Ever
date: November 7, 2000
There are some things going on in the music world (especially POP) that I would like to speak out on. For starters, the Pop world is becoming very competitive and phony. Musicians are starting to make music only to out-do their rivals and I feel this is disgusting. Singers such as Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, and Jennifer Lopez are constantly claiming how sex doesnt sell but yet each of them has been seen one time too many exposing plenty of skin or wearing revealing outfits. They say one thing yet do another which totally contradicts their messages and sends teens everywhere a bad picture. Last time I checked making music didnt involve who has the cutest boyfriend, who looks better at shows, or who does the better performance its just about MAKING GOOD MUSIC and sharing your talent with the world. Artists now adays have forgotten that and are only focused on beating each others records (i.e *NSYNC vs BSB), or looking the sexiest (i.e Britney Spears vs Christina Aguilera). I think artists of today need to start cherishing their place in this industry and using it to gain self knowledge instead of wasting it on materials or other silly things. Being true to themself should be their #1 priority...but it isnt..and thats far from Keeping It Real as they all claim that they do.

This I Promise You Video Review
by: Starlite411
date: November 3, 2000
Some may know the popular boy band of N SYNC whose members make up of Justin Timberlake, Chris Kirkpatrick, Joey Fatone, Lance Bass, and JC Chasez. People may have heard their love songs and dance rhythms pumped through the radio but have they seen their new video? The new video is for their current single This I Promise You. It is a ballad which is beautifully written by Richard Marx. The video was directed by David Meyers. The video was filmed in the Red Woods of California. Timberlake and Chazes take lead vocals with this song. The video starts out with Timberlake singing his verse, focuses on the whole group, with various senarios throughout the video about couples in love, goes back to Chazes, and closes with a shot of the whole group singing at an outside resturant. Personally I think the video is beautiful. After I saw it for the first time I wanted to go to California and visit the woods in which the video for This I Promise You was filmed.
